How we handle SMS opt-in and opt-out processes

JewelTextPro follows all industry regulations and best practices for SMS messaging, including full compliance with 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) requirements. This page outlines our opt-in/opt-out process to ensure transparent and compliant SMS communications with customers.

Opt-In Process

Customer-Initiated Opt-In Process

  1. Explicit Consent: Before sending any marketing messages, we require explicit consent from customers.
  2. Customer-Initiated Opt-In: Customers must text the toll-free number 1-833-564-5395 with the keyword "JEWEL" or "JOIN" to opt in and receive sales texts and picture messages.

  3. Business Name Inclusion: Every opt-in message includes the business name at the beginning, clearly identifying the sender.
  4. Clear Instructions: The message provides clear instructions on how to opt in (reply JEWEL or JOIN) and how to opt out (reply STOP).
  5. Rate Disclosure: The message includes standard rate disclosure language ("Msg&data rates may apply").

Opt-In Confirmation

  1. Customer Response: When a customer replies with "JEWEL" or "JOIN" (10DLC compliant keywords), their consent is recorded.
  2. Confirmation Message: Upon opting in, the customer receives a confirmation message:
    JewelTextPro Welcome! Thank you for joining. Reply STOP at any time to opt-out from any messages.
  3. Database Update: The customer's opt-in status, date, and time are recorded in our secure database.

Opt-Out Process

Customer-Initiated Opt-Out

  1. Opt-Out Keywords: Customers can opt out at any time by replying with "STOP" (or variations like "CANCEL", "UNSUBSCRIBE", "OPT-OUT").
  2. Immediate Processing: Opt-out requests are processed immediately upon receipt.
  3. Confirmation Message: Upon opting out, the customer receives a confirmation message:
    You've been unsubscribed from JewelTextPro messages. We're sorry to see you go!
  4. Database Update: The customer's opt-out status, date, and time are recorded in our secure database.

Automatic Compliance

  1. Message Cessation: Once a customer opts out, they will not receive any further marketing messages.
  2. Opt-In Required for Resubscription: If a customer wishes to receive messages again after opting out, they must go through the opt-in process again.

10DLC Compliance and Privacy

10DLC and Toll-Free Number Compliance

  • JewelTextPro is fully compliant with both 10DLC regulations and toll-free number requirements for business messaging.
  • We only send marketing messages to customers who have explicitly opted in by texting our toll-free number using the approved keywords (JEWEL or JOIN).
  • Campaign messages are only sent to customers with an "opted_in" status in our database.
  • Our toll-free number (1-833-564-5395) is registered for commercial messaging and complies with all carrier requirements.

Message Storage and Tracking

  • All sent and received messages are stored in our secure database.
  • Each customer's opt-in/opt-out history is maintained for compliance purposes.
  • Timestamps are recorded for all opt-in and opt-out actions.

Privacy and Data Security

  • All customer data, including phone numbers and opt-in statuses, is stored securely.
  • Access to customer data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
  • Our system complies with relevant data protection regulations.
